Tom Schreiber is an artist, design thinker and storyteller. He serves as Interactive Art Director for the Technology Staffing Solutions division at Robert Half. In this role he is charged with growing the brand presences of The Creative Group, Robert Half Technology and Robert Half Legal and increasing their value to job seekers and client companies. Tom has over 15 years of experience in art direction, design, advertising and social brand engagement with companies such as Pixelette Studios (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows), Clearwire 4G Mobile Broadband Network, Publicis Modem & Dialog, Syfy, ELLE Magazine Group, Ruder Finn, Saks Fifth Avenue, among others. As co-founder of Mathes Grant: Artists’ Minds at Work and Culture Pundits The Arts and Culture Network, Tom grew an innovative global conversation platform to over a million views a month serving stakeholders of the arts and leading cultural institutions including The Whitney Museum of American Art, The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum and The Pulitzer Foundation for the Arts. In 2004 Schreiber co-produced “Open Proposition: Artists for the Bill of Rights” which brought leading visual artists such as Ross Bleckner, Louise Bourgeois and Robert Rauschenberg together with supporters in the arts, entertainment, business and politics to raise awareness of the New York Bill of Rights Defense Campaign. As an artist, Tom is most known for a drawing-as-conversation social art project called “tomversations.” Over 3 years, beginning in 2001, he made nearly 3000 interactive drawings with randomly encountered people in his travels. A series of conversational word paintings called importraits followed. His importrait salon in New York and Los Angeles brought together a diverse mix of people around the arts for a vibrant exchange of ideas. Guests and importrait subjects have included Daily Show creator, Lizz Winstead; Elle Magazine editor-in-chief, Robbie Myers; conceptual artist, writer and musician, Paul D. Miller aka DJ Spooky That Subliminal Kid among others. Tom is currently active in his community working with thought leaders to show the value of art and design thinking in STEM and in the learning process. Tom lives in Los Altos, CA with his wife and two young sons.
